Hello, everyone!
I am new guy in this forum and I wish your apologise , if there is existing topic like this, but depending on my research , results for topics like this was 0. So here is the case - I have SP Geodimeter 610s and Trimble CU robotic kit (without 2.4 Ghz robotic handle). On CU runs Trimble Survey Controler V12.41 (if I don't wrong) and I want to attach the CU to the Geodimeter, but I didnt found any information on the web how to do that. I found few pictures where is shown this, actually few pictures are with Trimble 5600, which is basically same as Geodimeter 610s and one picture with this what I want to do.
On the picture below is shown Geodimeter with CU controller
I know there is some problems about firmware and so on, but first things first 🙂
Thanks for your help!
P.S. I want to know does the 2.4 Ghz robotic handle works with Geodimeter internal 2.4 Ghz radio. I think there is a way because of the same frequency of the signal, but I dont know is it work for shure .
The CU is made to clip onto an S6. That picture shows an extra part between the instrument and CU. Never seen that combination.
So am I, but there is some way for this to be done. Few hours ago I see same like this combination , but station is Trimble 5600 series.
There is definitely a faceplate adapter between the Geo600 and the S6 faceplate. Call a Trimble dealer and see what they have to offer.
I dont want to communicate with dealers in my country. Last time we spoke about one R8 receiver first mod. where they told me that there is not exist build in GPRS module who can work with my device. Few days later I found information on the internet where I found part number for the device and when i ask them about price for the module they told me that Trimble answer them that this device is not compatible with my receiver..., nonsense! Since then I trust only myself, internet community and outside my country dealers, but on the first place - human experience.
Thanks anyway for the answers guys!
P.S. Nobody doesn't talk anything about radio handle.
If you can read French...
I don't understand french, but gooegle do great job, thank you! I found the device, which is called TCU adapter. The price is between EUR 230 - 320 depending on different Trimble dealers, excl. shipping.
Is there anyone who have experience with Trimble 5600 in combination for work with TCU robotic kit?
as for the Radio, be sure the antenna mounts are the same. if they have a 1/2 turn bayonet lock then the radio is a UHF and only that type of external radio (with the same type of antenna mount is compatible). If it is a screw on antenna then it is a 2.4Ghz radio.
You will need this along with the holder in order to go robotic. the ACU clips to the holder along with the radio. it looks like a square steering wheel when mounted to the pole.
It is a good system, but don't put too much money into it as it has been obsolete for a number of years and a whole system can be found for 4,000 - 7,000 US depending on accessories.

I know what are possibilities for usage of different control boards, but I dont find anywhere in the web combination between trimble 5600 and trimble tcu with robotic holder. Total station has an internal radio broadcasting on 2.4 Ghz frequency, same is situation with Trimble robotic holder it also use 2.4 Ghz frequency for data transfer, so where is the problem to use those two units together in robotic mode? I think perhaps the problem became of integrated firmwares for the instrument type in field software.

Hi
Can anyone send me part numbers of these adapters and CU? Which software is on CU?
Thanks
You might send these guys an E-mail and ask for the service manager who's name is Farshad Behbahani.
He worked at AGA here in the US and is familiar with the older Spectra Precision/Geodimeter stuff.
Thanks a lot...
I will ask him...
This thing called Û?Trimble CU AdaptorÛÏ
The price about 300 euro + tax + ship
But real value of instrument is smaller then price of CU and adapter...
:stakeout:
...but if you want to work, you need this. Welcome in the Trimble's World!
IMHO, the Geodimeter gun is good and robust, and on the TCU run a good and modern software.
And you can change the GDM backup battery at home.
That was the one of the worst "repairs" I've ever seen. Unprofessional to the max. The guy could have at least learned how to desolder a battery from a board. He could have also obtained solder tab batteries, etc.
