What in the heck happened while surveying Townships 23 and 24 North, Range 20 West?  I was playing around with the GLO portal.

That's how I found this craziness in the first few miles north of the Arkansas line.

Just for fun, you might also look at what happens at Kansas City, MO-KS where the Kansas River hits the Missouri River today versus in the 1800's.

Not sure what's going there, outside my area. There was an e-w state line correction ran though, closed upon. Possibly part of it was that?
