With a recent change from Zone A to Zone AE in one county that I survey in, I decided to get registered to be able to go the eLOMA route. Having read the tutorial documents and viewed a power point presentation, everything looks pretty straight forward.
When I log on, I get this screen:
From the tutorial, it should look like this:
When I log in there is no option in the tools section to select the eLOMA process. Does anyone know if there is a time delay for full access or am I overlooking the obvious somewhere?
Yes, I do recall there being a 1 day delay between the time I registered and getting an email that said I could process an eLoma request. Be aware, that your first request for an eLoma will be audited. I've submitted 3 or 4, and they've all been audited. Maybe they haven't cleared me because I've yet to get an eLoma audit to be approved without "comments". The Audits have all been approved within two weeks of mailing the package, so they are quick about reviewed audit packages.
Thanks for the information.
I already have everything ready to go for the paper submission in expectation of the first one being audited.
Still two weeks beats the heck out of 2 months for a "simple" LOMA.
If you can get any submittal through any governmental agency without comments returned, usually that require a resubmittal - you should be applauded by your peers and revise your name to The Lone Ranger.
Thanks for the information.
One of my Audits was kicked back for not annotating the FEMA map in the way they wanted. Again, I thought I followed the instructions, by showing the location of the house and the cross section, but it was kicked back because I did not label scaled distances to the nearest interpolation points (which wasn't listed as a requirement ...)
If you (or anyone else) wants an email of the two example PDFs that FEMA forwarded showing how they want the FIRM map annotated for Elomas, post your email here.
The whole system needs to be done away with and flood insurance provided by competitive private carriers. We need to stop feeding all bureaucrats and let them provide for themselves through their own ability's and talent by competing in the private sector.
