Anyone know how to zero the instrument with the faceplate on--using it more conventionally, non-robot?

Ken,
Focus 10 is in fact a Trimble 5600, only used this gun with the TSCe.
We had a Trimble 3600 with face plate, I still have 2 pdf manuals (Trimble & TDS) if they could be of any help i'll forward them, or you can search on Trimble.com
I don't know what software runs on the Focus, I think the 3600 still runs on Zeiss software,

chr.

You may already know this, but there are two ports on every battery pack for use with this line of guns. They are interchangible ports, but 1 port connects the battery to the gun, the other port can be used to plug in a DC using the same cable that connects the DC to the remote radio. If you are using the 3-pack battery, just make sure the two connections are made on the same side of the battery pack (IIRC, there are 4 ports on that pack). Once you have it properly connected, you should be able control the backsight set-ups, sideshots, ect, through the DC.

I guess it depends on how "old school" you want to go, but I've never learned the program numbers for the Geodimeter/Trimble on board software. I've always connected the DC directly for use in non-robotic modes.

Thanks...yeah, I was told that I couldn't run it conventionally--so just trying to prove a point here. If I can zero it, that's one of the things taken care of. Now if I could learn how to hold an angle for my doubling methods..it'll be even better. But thanks all, that really helps.
