Department of Agriculture had to know this was going to happen, especially if this was discussed 6 months ago, yet still required us all to continue paying to do CEUs and even charged us an additional fee for our renewals.
I have my personal PSM & my LB, between the 2 of them it cost me near $800, plus the CEU at $500.
A responsible Government waives all of the renewals & CEUs prior to the vote. Instead, they robbed us and continued to vote with de-certification. This has an agenda behind it, obviously.
Yes, that sounds about right. My wife and I were just discussing that exact scenario. This whole thing smells.
That's backwards. They can't change anything without the vote. Until the vote actually happens, they have to keep moving forward like as though the new law to deregulate didn't even exist.
So you mean they can't give us a delay on renewal until a final vote? That's absurd. You're saying we're not allowed to make other arrangements with our money because of their choice to dissolve us.
It's our money, not theirs.
"It's our money not theirs"
Ya think?
Warning: typical George Carlin language!

It's not at all absurd.
Their mandate and duty is to uphold the law, whatever it is, and regardless of what's on the floor of the House, right up until the law actually changes and is signed by the Governor.

PSM I understand, what's an LB?
Ralph
LB = Licensed Business
Thanks Machete.
Ralph
Dave is correct. Even if signed by the gov., what is the effective date of the bill?
Absolutely right - the only thing to go by is effective date. Often there's a time period after signing, where regulations have to be developed on how to implement the law, and so on - a bill, when signed into law, might not actually take effect for a good year or more after it passes in the legislature and is signed into law.
You would think so, but the effective date of this bill in June 2011. They are apparently in a hurry to "help Florida businesses" and "create jobs" ...
A government administrator can't base its actions on what might happen in the legislature.
Sorry, this is basic government operational knowledge.
I for one am going to call myself a licensed surveyor until february of 2013, because I paid for it. It won't be unethical and there'll be no law against it.
