My cell phone has become my note taker. It was a cumbersome process in the beginning as I would watch my son or another young person type on theirs faster than I can on the computer. I still can't type anywhere near that quickly on my phone. It's one fat finger button pushed at a time. But the note function is too good to pass up. Still have a field book but I don't make drawings of stones, I take pictures with the phone, I don't write done notes I type them into a file and send it to the cloud, import those directly into my Corner Records.?ÿ

What made it way more useful is when I finally figured out the note app on the I-phone does so much more than allow you to type out the note. It's a scanner and the best thing is it's a dictation secretary. I can simply speak into it instead of typing out details of a corner.?ÿ

Such a time saver, scan a document at the courthouse, save it to the cloud, (talk) type a note in a file save that to the cloud.

Does anyone else dictate to the phone, it's a good thing I'm in the field by myself doing it cause it's got to look weird.?ÿ

Wow i have a IPhone and never tried that. I might have to experiment with that. When you scan with it will it scan to a pdf or in some other format. The crews take pictures of fieldbook pages but this could be a time saver.

I have started using my phone for internal meeting notes. Anything that may be needed for a case goes in a field book...

You should try it, the I-phone note function is powerful, especially for surveyors. I scan in the vault, you can trim and fix all the extraneous clutter by grabbing the corners of the scan, then save it. Done.

The field notes and such get saved into a folder and then eventually to the final job file when finished, along with the photos. Me speaking into the note file and having it all organized by point #, and location is a huge time saver.

It's easy, google can explain.

@mightymoe i don’t know if google can help but i am sure my 8 year old and 11 year old can get me trained up lol. Its amazing they can figure out this stuff in like 5 minutes lol.
