Hello,

For the older controllers (TPS /GPS 1200), Leica offers a very useful program that replicates the field controller on the desktop; providing support from the office to the crew in real-time. Both parties looking at the same screens and clicking on the same buttons.

Would anyone know if Trimble offers a similar desktop utility for its new Access field controller software?

Thanks,

Georges

Yes, they make an emulator because I've seen one used in a TBC class but the website doesn't say anything about it. You will probably need to talk to your Trimble Rep.

The emulator is fully functional so it will probably be expensive because it could potentially be used in place of the data collector.

Thanks John,

I will talk with the vendor/support to see the options available to maybe get a copy of the emulator.

Regards,

Georges

I asked this very question of Michael McInnis (gpstraining.com) a few years back. Apparantly Trimble restricts the distribution of emulators to Trimble Certified Trainers only. Corporate policy.

That is unfortunate, maybe they will revisit policy down the road. I have used these kind of replicators / emulators many times with equipment of other manufacturers. Very useful tool to support crews in the field.

I have the Trimble SCS900 emulator on my laptop. It does not allow you to connect to a controller in the field though.
