Hi guys
you are all a wealth of knowledge and know-how, so glad to discover this site.
Want to try filling out request for an e-Loma tomorrow if system will let me in after not having submitted one in a few years.
Noticed Fema states they audit one out of every ten submittals.
Has anyone been audited ? If so, what kind of questions do they ask or info do they request ?
Thanks for any input everyone !
All of mine (not many) have been audited. It's not too bad. Basically just providing information you should have in your file.
And instead of having an immediate determination, it takes the standard 30-60 days.
I had 2 in a row audited and it is taking close to 60 days for the determination.
My first submission was audited about a year ago and after going back and forth for a few days I got the LOMA. They were particularly concerned with the wording of the legal description.
My first eLoma was audited.
The reviewer was a subcontractor who was very helpful. He was not a red-tape man who wanted to rake me over the coals; he wanted to get the information and run it through the system quickly. Easy enough, just provide the information and roll with it.
I had the same experience as Spledeus. The contracted reviewer was very helpful (no one at FEMA had a clue), it took about 60 days to complete it, and I learned a lot.
When I did my first CLOMR-F I contacted the contractor for help as, once again, talking to anyone at FEMA was just confusing.
We were getting audited every time. It turned out they were hanging up on the punctuation in the Legal Description Field.
I only do an E-Loma occasionally. I usually get the Map Specialist on the phone and ask what they are looking closely at these days. They have helped me out every single time...
They audited me enough to just have the client submit the information. Audits will be automatic if you forget to dot an i or cross a t.
