We have been asked by a local municipality to supply a "latitude and longitude" of a proposed sign location for some FAA paperwork for the municipal airport.
When we asked if there was a specific datum/realization required by the FAA form we were told simply "no". I find this hard to beleive.
We have been trying to get the airport manager on the phone today. No luck.
Does anybody know which FAA form might be requiring the latitude longitude for a proposed sign so I can review and see what the actual specifications on the form might be?
I know this is a long-shot, but I thought I would ask.
Thanks!
Kevin,
Since my rally car decide to begin to eat own head gasket 1 day into a 10 day rally I've got internet coverage and time on my hands.
When preparing tower surveys I usually use either 1A or 2C accuracy standards. The datum is always the current realization of NAD83 horizontal and NAVD88 vertica. While it does not really matter given that the accuracy needs to be at greatest 20ft and the realizations very by decimeters at most, I always state the realization. The key is to find out the accuracy required by the FAA & client.
Good luck
FAA form 7460 is the most "basic" "location" of proposed improvements near an airport.
Thanks Gents!
