I've got a half a mind to go into the business of making and selling aftermarket total station parts. I found out this morning that you can't get parts for ones made 6 years ago.

Seriously?

I share much in common with a 6 year old total station. We are both antiques and parts are hard to find.

Most manufactures carry parts anywhere from 7-10 years after they were discontinued... Let me know what you have and what parts are malfunctioning and I will let you know if I have it new. If not I might be able to find something in my instrument grave yard to get it up and going again.

Just got mine out of the shop from Earl Dudley, still have a bunch of Leica and Wild parts and the best techs in the business, although they are no longer a Leica dealer.

Rain + TCA 1103 = Tuneup and brake job on chariot. Oh well, will wait another month, not squeaking TOO much......

Oh, did I mention in the same week the company's RCS 1100 (not mine) got fried by another rain shower?

We have to dial in the pedestal rebar for caissons, same tolerances as anchor bolts, and it seems like the rain waits until one has to be dialed in before the bottom falls out.
