I have a single family house, a portion of which is a slab on grade, and the other portion (higher) is a raised foundation and crawlspace.
Do I need to do two separate certificates?
I assume under the same roof? If detached then yes 2. If not I would suggest clear photos for the cert showing this. FF of lower slab on grade than next higher FF. The sq ft of enclosed area or crawl space area and use the building diagram of the elevated building with crawl space. Basically default to worst case.
I would go with #3. #3 says split level, and the lowest floor is slab on grade, even though the diagram shows both floors as slab on grade ...
Go with #3, use the comment section to explain, take lots of photos, note any flood vents that serve the crawl space, etc...
#3 isn't perfect, but IMO, it's the closest thing they offer.
I use the diagram for the lowest floor and in comments explain about the other floor.
Do what Lamon does. Only way to go. They primarily care about which of the two situations has the lower critical elevation. If the slab is a bit higher than the LAG of the crawlspace portion, go with the crawlspace scenario. If the slab is lower, then go with it. This is why they have the comments section on page 2.
We had one just like this about two months ago. The LAG of the crawlspace was about 0.2 feet lower than the slab on grade portion of the house. In this case it was sort of a joke as the house was in the floodway to start with. Odds are fairly high that 0.2 wasn't going to be of significance very often.
