@lurker That one with sledge hammer doesn??t have to be the strongest he or she just needs to know how that sucker can work for ya instead of against ya. ?ÿI always had two sledges and a claw hammer. ?ÿOne sledge long handled once that hub was starter simpley stand up and rotate the wrist and when she comes down she does all the work. 2nd was short handle sledge for hard ground and needing to tap her down a little. Claw for the few soft spots and or digging in a cut section. Oh how I wish I could do that these days. Although where i work it??s against the survey gods to stake anything other than finished grade. Once the big boss told me they don??t stake sub grade or anything other than finished grade per contract. I said ok i will just give the stakes with marker mark to fill or cut to fg.
