Same as Jim, don't want or need a TSC7, tablet or any other boat anchors...
I have a Carlson RT3 tablet running Windows 10 and Carlson SurvPC Field software.
I gotta tell ya I love the big screen and it's capabilities.?ÿ I can get on the Internet and search deeds and plats and I can stream a UFC fight if I wanna BUT there are some kinks and it is sometimes difficult with the all too frequent updates. It occassionally boogers up drivers that are required to run my GPS. And by golly I have spent a lot of time trying to chase down solution to small problems.
I have often stated that I wished I had chosen a regular collector but windows mobile is a dead platform.?ÿ
I've run Topcon TopSurv and Carlson SurvCE on an FC-2500 with WinCE (similar to TSC3).?ÿ In 2015 I demoed both the Trimble TSC3 (Windows Mobile) and the Trimble Yuma2 tablet (Win7pro) with Trimble Access software.?ÿ It took about a day for me to eliminate the TSC3 from consideration.?ÿ The Yuma was just faster and having full Win7 means that it acts just like an office computer. That makes communicating with it so much simpler.?ÿ I don't have a download cable and I almost never have to use a USB stick.?ÿ My file transfers are handled through DropBox and occasionally through a WiFi connection to the office network.
I've been test driving the TSC7 with Win10 for the last week.?ÿ I like the performance and the screen.?ÿ The screen is basically the same size as the Yuma2 but seems to be brighter. Ergonomically I'm not sold yet.?ÿ It weighs the exact same as the Yuma2, but because of the added length of the keyboard it has to be mounted to the side of the pole like the TSC3.?ÿ With a carbon fiber pole you can't clamp it tight enough to keep it from rotating around the pole if you put it up on your shoulder to carry it for longer distances.?ÿ The one I demoed has the non-QWERY keyboard and I find that next to useless.?ÿ I'm faster on the virtual keyboard on the Yuma2 than I am with the TSC7 keyboard.?ÿ I hear that it can be ordered with a QWERTY keyboard layout but I have not confirmed it.?ÿ
I'm hoping for an updated version of the Yuma2 that will run Win10 without the keyboard of the TSC7.?ÿ

Trimble Access on Trimble T10 tablet.
A little on the heavy side but well worth it as it can also function as main computer with dock.?ÿ Nice to have everything with me and a fast data collector that handles any file I throw at it.
SurvCE v5 on a Carlson Surveyor+.?ÿ Works for me.
Trimble access TSC3
Its a workhorse no major issues at all.

A banjo, but with lots of water.
I'll be waiting to see how many of these guys -- the ones who swim, hike and climb through swamps and woods, and are not doing large construction layouts or topos -- after 2 or 3 years of lugging around a Windows mini desktop announce they be keen for the full desktop. Personally, less than a year with a Leica CS25 7" tablet and a 10" Microsoft Surface, created a strong desire for a cell phone sized controller. But, mostly what I do is large acreage tracts. Daily long distance hikes through dense thickets while swinging a machete doesn't create a lot of desire for the next "bigger" thing that comes along. Right tool for the job, etc.
I currently use a TSC3 running Survey Pro. Not my choice. I do a lot of construction staking and site topos. I'd really like to have the bigger screen, although?ÿ I can see I. Ben's point about lugging such a thing through the bush. In heavy?ÿ the bush even the TSC3 is too big.?ÿ
SurvCE 5.x on a Carlson Surveyor 2. Sometimes too big, sometimes too small. Must be the right choice for me.?ÿ
I use Survey Controller on an elderly TSC2. Used to D/L with Active Sync; since going to Win 10 I use WMDC.

ETA OT: Huzzah, I've reached 500 posts!
Now use a Carlson Mini 2 running SurvCE 4.0
Still use my old HP48 with SMI DCE V7 once in a while when I need a break from WinMobile 🙂
