I am currently using a Leica 1103 robotic total station; connected with Satel radios; to a Recon running TDS.
I'd like to upgrade the data collector to something with a key pad, running Carlson. I have a Carlson Explorer that I used with my Nikon and really liked that software.
All recommendation are welcomed; and if you have something that might help me and want to sell it; please message me through this board.
Thanks in advance for all and any help.

You really can't beat an Allegro with integrated radio pod running SurvCE and a TCPS27 or RM2410 radio at the robot.

I have an allegro mx with carlson survce, the mx is the model with the integrated leica radio- works great. Drawback - large and heavy, but, it does double as
as a stake hammer with no ill effects.

The CE and CX models also use the same radio pod. The biggest advantage of the MX is that it has Windows Mobile instead of Windows CE which means it will work with the latest version of SurvCE. It also has a USB port built in so you don't need to use the USB dock. That being said, the older units still work great and get the job done for significantly less money.

My setup is a leica 1105 robotic with a parani Bluetooth. My controller is a topcon tesla running survce.
Very happy with this setup. The tesla has long range Bluetooth built in. I easily get 250m plus.
I have a second parani i can connect to tesla if needed but this hasn't happened yet.
Makes for a very nice compact setup.
