I need to buy or build a case for my GPS setup. We recently added a pair of Hiper II to our existing Hiper Lites. We are using the Hiper Lite as the base with PDL type radio and using the Hiper IIs as rovers. I need cases that will each hold one old Hiper, a Hiper II and a radio. Does anyone have recommendations for someone who can make a case that will work for this setup?

Pelican makes really nice cases, and they offer a lot of different sizes. I think they can be ordered with a foam insert that you cut to fit your equipment. They aren't cheap.

Pelican 1520

I'm pretty sure you can get laser cut foam if you search around. We use the 'pluck-able' foam included with Pelican.

The 1520 is a little small for (2) heads and an external 35-watt radio...but it is a high quality, low-cost case, especially if you shop on-line for the best price. Naturally there are a variety of sizes.

one of our older radios came in a NEI case, very similar to a Pelican Case

here's their website: http://www.neigps.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=61

not sure how the prices compare, but the foam insert is very similar and easy to cut to shape.

I don't know what Pelican model number this case it but the inside dimensions are 14.5" x 10". As you can see, I fit the Geomax, Getac data collector, the Geomax battery charger and there are two slots for batteries. Also shown are the download cable for the Getac and an antenna quick connect device.

You can often find good, used pelicans on ebay for about half price. Good Luck!

Blake-

Pelican has been our choice and we get it in RED with the little square "pickoutable" foam.

Here's one site to look at.

Another vote for Pelican, here are a couple places I buy, depending on what I need:

Nalpak

Cases By Pelican

I have purchased both places, no problems with either.

Pelican is nice, but I'm going to strongly recommend HPRC cases. They're as robust as Pelican, with a simliar warranty, etc, but they have much nicer catches and handles.

I'm pretty certain Leica use them for the Scanstation C10 box so there's a vote of confidence. 😀
