Got another one here. The misconception that some people have of surveying.

Perhaps Tina is assuming that one night of her work at the world's oldest profession is equivalent to one day of your work at the world's second oldest profession.

As they say, takes one to know one.

No need to worry. I'm sure there will be at least a couple of "surveyors" bidding against each other to get the job.

Sad thing is back in 2005 she would have to pay twice that around here, but now there are guys who lost there nice jobs at one of the "Big" companies in the past three years who would jump all over that. :-S
As my friend says, "They are working out of their bath tub"

One person who's not at fault for this ad is Tina, the advertiser. She just doesn't want to be ripped off. We all know that her real-estate friend, or a lawyer, or someone told her a lot survey shouldn't cost any more than $350. The other one who is at fault are land surveyors who do a shabby fly-by-night job at that price. It is us that let this perception happen.

How can you blame someone who just doesn't want to be taken advantage of?

I agree. Our profession does need to educate the public better, but I hope nobody takes the bait.

Its sad to say, but in Florida, you can get a small lot done for a lot less than that. 🙁

per-say.

If it's in quotes does that make it less racist?
