I am in the market for a new cooler. I currently use a coleman 28qt cooler. It fits nicely in the back of the truck, but it absolutely sucks at keeping ice.
If I am home in the mornings, I will put 2 2 liter bottles of frozen water in the cooler, put my water bottles/soda, etc., along with my lunch, and a bag of ice, and it does okay, but not great.
If I am on the road, which seems like a lot more these days, the 2 liter bottles are not an option.
I am looking for recommendations for a small, quality cooler, about the same size. I hate not being sure if my lunch will stay cool enough/safe to eat around lunchtime.
Thanks,
Jimmy
Yeti Coolers (www.yeticoolers.com) seem to be the best thing going. You pay dearly up front, but over time would probably be the most economical for a heavy user.
Yeti. You can write it off.
+1 on the yeti. I have two. I always thought there was no way a cooler was worth that much. Ten my dad got me the small roadie one as a gift. I love the thing. It rides in my back floorboard of my truck every day and gets hauled around on the Atv as well. I have had it maybe three years and it is flawless. I would have gone through several coolers of cheaper quality by now. I liked it so much I bought a larger one as well. Buy once cry once.
The pelican coolers are also really nice and slightly cheaper but they are a lot bulkier. The 35 quart pelican is about the same size as a 45 quart yeti.

Given the future economic benefit that knowing your water will be cold all day long has on your productivity, you should probably classify a Yeti as an asset and depreciate it instead 😀
Yeti. Very very well built and if you put a little rock salt in with your ice, you have very slightly slushy, burn your lips kind of cold
Cooler?
I haven't seen any weather that makes me want a cooler since 2012;-)
Just use the two in the floorboard of my Ram and I'm good to go:-D
I've heard the Yeti's are good but the way it's going here, I'm more worried about glaciers returning:-O
