Hello everyone,

I recently was asked about an alternate controller for site supervisors, pipe layers, and some of the office personnel. They're looking for a non-rover option where they could just use a low accuracy controller to see where they are on a jobsite. Almost like a Garmin handheld that shows the design on it but I didnt see that option on Garmin.

We have FC-5000's and Hiper V's and were thinking they may?ÿ be overkill for the guys who just are trying to get a sub-meter idea of where they are on site. I'm also looking into if theres a rover controller combo that isnt as high of accuracy for this situation.

Any ideas on options for this?

Thank you!

Your Fc-5000 supports Autonomous /SBAS.?ÿ Simply select that format, use Generic NMEA as the rover manufacturer, and make sure External Receiver is checked with Generic NMEA.?ÿ If you want to leave one with them.

I export linework as KMLs and then have clients download the Google Earth app on their phones, although most of them have it already.?ÿ This works alright, but was better when the app supported the "follow me" function.?ÿ I believe with the current version of the app you have to keep hitting the location button if you want it to refresh your position.?ÿ Most of our work is in UTM also, so this is fairly convenient.

It is a cheap alternative though.
