While preparing a staking estimate, I came across a note on the cover sheet of a grading plan that states:

"TC (top of curb)elevations as shown are for reference only in setting grades"

What kind a weasel clause or what the heck is the engineer trying to really say here?
Anyone come across this lately? Is it an attempt to relieve liability?

It probably means that the grades control. So if you run the grades, and get different spots, the ones you get control.
