The following message has gone out to all real estate sales people and their brokers. Makes you wonder how often this comes up for reconsideration.

Call for Action: Tell Congress to Protect Your Clients’ Ability to Purchase Flood Insurance
Last week, you should have received an email from the REALTOR® Action Center asking you to respond to a very important Call for Action urging Congress to reauthorize the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). If Congress does not extend the program, then all pending closings on properties located in flood hazard areas will not be able close since those home buyers would not be able to purchase flood insurance. In one month last year when the program was unavailable, nearly 50,000 closings were either cancelled or significantly delayed due to the lack of flood insurance. In order to help ensure that our voice is heard in Congress, we desperately need your help in sending an email to your member of Congress through this Call for Action, which literally takes less than ten seconds and two clicks of your mouse.
