The company I work for would like me to get registered in Colorado. I am registered now in Arizona. I got the outline for the state-specific portion of the exam. It looks like 20% of the exam is on "Knowledge of Record Sources", which include state, county, municipal and abstract/title company records. My question is, where might I find information on all these, and does the record system in Colorado differ much from other states. Here in Arizona, I rely on county assessor and recorder records to begin with. But even within Arizona, there are variations from county to county. So, I expect this would be the same in Colorado. Can anyone provide information on studying the record system in Colorado?

Thanks.

Either the Colorado Board or Society one has a study guide type site on thier web-site and you can download EVERYTHING you need for the Colorado State Specific

Sorry no one else responded from CO. I don't know a lot about what is on the test these days, but definitely go to the State board web page. Look @ all the board rules and statutes. I imagine there will not be any obscure questions about what a specific county does or their specific quirks. Everything will be in their laws they publish or their rules and bylaws.

Maybe someone else can chime in who has taken the exam whit in the past decade or two. There is a refresher course they put on live, but I think they have DVDs on some of the material. Check @ plsc.net or email me if you want me to get you further information.

Here is the web page for the state board:
http://www.dora.state.co.us/aes/index.htm They have a section on "laws/rules/and policies. I imagine you can find everything that might be on the test there, and if you are looking for 'county' research, perhaps you can look for some keywords.

THe PLSC puts on a refresher course; I suspect you couldn't come up for that, but I don't know if you can buy any tapes/dvds of the course. Maybe you can find out details about that at "www.plsc.net"
