?ÿ?ÿ New to forum, longtime veiwer. I have question that I hope some had experience with. I recently acquired a Trimble 5600 robotic with a Trimble TSC with Survey Controller 12.5. Do not want offend anybody, so I apologize in advance. I despise the data collector and the software within. Having used SMI for so many years with a Zeiss S20 robotic I know I am spoiled and do not like change.

?ÿ?ÿ With that out of the way, Carlson SurvCE 4.0 or lower versions are the only ones that will work the 5600 (this was verified with Carlson support). My question is has anyone used SurvCe 4.0 or lower with a 5600 and the 2.4ghz radio set-up for robotics. The older Georadio (red dot) had an on/off switch which would work with my SMI. The 2.4 ghz Georadio (blue dot) has no on/off switch. I really do not want to guess and or assume SurvCe on a collector will work the newer radio. Any help on this would greatly appreciated.?ÿ?ÿ Mike

?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ?ÿ

I think there is a post on this forum, where Carlson confirms that its SurvCE5 will run the 5600, and that that version also has electronic bubble in it. However, they say that 5V will be the last to run a 5600. I'm fairly sure SurvCE will run with either radio, you just have to follow a careful procedure to get SurvCE to "tell" the instrument how to behave. That procedure is typically starting the instrument with the keyboard on it, leveling it, running the compensator, loading all the enviro parameters, then putting it in to remote mode, turning off, removing the keyboard, wire connecting SurvCE DC into the instrument, setting the Equipment parameters, then use SurvCE DC to "reactivate" the instrument, which at the same time tells the instrument how to behave, then "un-wiring" it from the instrument and then using SurvCE DC with the radios to run full robotic.

So it will definitely connect to version 5.0. I just recently connected to one a few days ago. You can also use Spectra Precisions survey pro as well.

Honestly though, you're using a shitty data collector. Everyone would have a miserable time with a TSCe now. Upgrade the DC and get Access or survey pro and youll be all set.
