Such as I have TDS survey pro on a Ranger 200 c, with some problems, but it still works. Poor screen.

And, I have another Ranger 200c, and I want to move the software to the other ranger. Can I just take it apart, and transfer the memory stick, and have it run? Anybody tried this sort of thing?

Thanks

Nate

I know that the older versions of Survey Pro were tied to the serial number of the device. That being said, you'd likely have to swap the entire main board and use only the peripheral devices from the second machine (screen, keyboard, etc).

I called our supplier once to ask if I could switch Survey Pro from one Recon to another, and they wouldn't let us do it. They said the software was only registered to the device it was installed on.

I have an old (and I mean old, probably from 2001 or so) on a card that plugs into one of the exterior slots on PDAs or data collectors. This particular version can be swapped as I have done it more than once on to different PDAs.

That was probably before Trimble bought them out.

Aloha, Nate:
I would attempt to swap the screens instead. Never done this before. But I have from several old post here that it is fairly easy to do. Take a lot pictures as you are taking it apart.
I hope you'll get it to work!

Dealer will pretty much give you the program free if you trade it in for a new unit.

I clean screen on old one real good. Seems to be ok. Crud at the edge does stuff to them.
