"Dear Colleagues,
Land Surveying is a Profession at a crossroads.
The last five years have taken their toll on our members, our businesses and our morale. New trends in surveying technology and methodologies have altered the way in which we practice, and keeping up with those changes requires constant vigilance.
Individually, we don't always have the time or the ability to understand or adapt to these developments. We depend on our fellow surveyors and NJSPLS to keep us informed and up to date. This interdependence does not happen easily, it requires hard work and participation.
On Thursday, November 8th the New Jersey Society of Land Surveyors will be having a General Membership Meeting. We will be discussing the future of our Profession and the need for us to work together on a national level. We will have guests attending this meeting including Robert Dahn, the President of the National Society of Professional Surveyors, as well as Curtis Sumner, the Executive Director of the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
I would like to invite you to attend and ask that each of you bring one colleague whose opinion you value and trust. Buy them dinner and listen to how we can mold a better organization to look out for our future.

It appears to be a membership drive by NSPS.
A little late I would say.
