Another concern of mine is the communication speed. It is really a big factor that does affect speed of work. Do you have any idea on how to speed it up? My total station is Leica TC307. I noticed that SDR33 only communicates at the lowest baud rate the TC307 supports.
Thank you.

You have in mind the rate of transfer from the instrument to the SDR? If you mean the download baud rate, that can be set at the Func > Communications > Com menu.
Hi Kent!
This is the SDR33 communication setting that I found working:
Baud Rate - 2400
Word Length - 7
Parity - Not Set
Stop Bit - 1
Output Delay - 0
It is really difficult to ask for technical support as it is an old system.
Thank you for taking time in helping me.
Regards.

I assume that you've discovered that you can change the baud rate with the left and right arrow keys, but that doesn't help with the problem.
Hi Kent!
Thank you for always being there for my questions.
I have no problem changing baud rate and any values for the communication settings. As the rule of thumb goes, the higher the baud rate the faster the communication is. For this reason, I tried other values other than the lowest one supported by my Leica TC307. Unfortunately, it failed. I am not sure how other values aside from the baud rate affects the communication speed such as parity, word length, stop bit, and output delay affect the communication.

Is the problem the time lag between the instrument making a measurement and the results showing up at the SDR33 or it is data download? I'd think that the communications parameters between instrument and SDR33 are pretty much fixed when you pick the total station on the Func > Instrument menu. The baud rate on the Func > Communications menu is for data download from the SDR33, I'm almost certain.
For what it's worth, there is about a one-second delay between my Zeiss total station displaying measurement results and the same appearing on the SDR33.
Hi Kent!
Yes, it is about the delay of transmitting measurement data from the instrument to SDR33 display. Mine is a bit more than 1 sec. but not at about 2s.
Thank you.
Regards.
