I have not been this busy since before 2001

The phone is ringing off the hook
I can nor get the proposals out the door soon enough
I hate to admit it, but I'm getting complaints about not sending out estimates fast enough

I raised my rates 3 months ago.
Best 1st Q in years

2nd Q may be the best 1/4 10 years

Am I alone here?

Plenty of new jobs plus too many rain days has us chasing off some potential jobs. Call yesterday said they had to have it done in under seven days. Told them to keep calling until they found someone else who would not only say they would do it, but, actually show up and do it in that time frame. Good luck.

I'm busier than I've ever been (since 2006). I've passed along over have a dozen potential projects in the last month or so. Got my eye on a June vacation.

Busier than it has been. Cautiously optimistic.

The last six months of last year were scary. Counting my blessings, and hope things get better for everyone here.

You ain’t alone Bob….

We do construction staking and production housing surveying and have been slammed since December. What I don’t quite understand is that Orlando is the current foreclosure capital of the world, yet builders can’t get new houses in the ground quick enough. Go figure.

Have a great week! B-)

I added two crews this week and another CAD guy. That makes 8 crews.

Just the opposite here; last 6 months of last year I was turning down work. So far this year, haven't even matched what I pulled in last January/February. One of my attorney clients always tries to talk me up to the other attorney when she does a closing. She had one guy "brag" to her that he gets his closing surveys for $275. I've had at least 12 phone calls from people price shopping, and they never call back. They must be finding those $275-$300 outfits.

Stretched pretty thin here too at the moment. It is a fragile situation though so I'm very cautiously optimistic. 2007 was going to be a very strong year for me too until Q4 came along... :-/ 2008 has been blocked from my memory. :pinch: 09,10,11 were slow but steady; steady only due to being extremely lean. 2012 was fair but 2013 came in with a roar. Buried with work and estimates like you Bob.

The talk appears to be, and i'm not sure how true, the foreclosed homes in Florida that have sat vacant for over a year or so fall victim to mold and various other forms of decay due to the climate (????)
