This is one of my methods, Phase 1 was the TV interview, Phase 2 the "Press Release", and Phase 3 will be direct mailings to local Attorneys.
We will wait and see what rolls in ! I did happen to meet the former Chair of the MA Real Estate Bar Assoc. last week and filled her in, but they are based out of Boston and have mediation panel in place. There just anything offered out here on the sand bar.

Does it work? My experience has reduced my optimism. Of course in my one experience (other than landlord / bad tenant situations) the opposition showed up 3 hours late and angry. It went downhill from there.
I took a mediation class in college during a mini-semester (January) and all I recall is that we had a cold classroom with a teapot, tea and 'sugar in the raw'.
It's tough to recover from a bad start like that one!
What works about it is that the parties get to explain their issues to someone that will listen, and has the ability to pick out the issues that need to be resolved.
Many times emotions will prevent people from expressing their true goals. Mediation will allow those emotions to be expressed in a more productive manner. Then the solution will present itself.
Also, the parties can create a workable solution that a judge could not mandate!

Congratulations, Don. Too bad Spledeus wasn't able to attend the Mass presentation. Glad to see your experience is beginning to pay off. Can't wait to see what success you're able to drum up.
Mediation is one of the land surveying profession's long overlooked roles in boundary dispute resolution. What better profession is there than the surveying profession to deal with people's land boundaries?
I used your Brewster video in my last mediation presentation in New York. Got lots of great comments about it.
Go for it!!

Don, I think it's a good plan if that is the direction you want to go. Being in King sized beds with lawyers, realtors and other negotiators is always a business decision. I'm sure you are doing the best to keep things moving along in the Poole family. I'll add the surveying profession into that list of beneficiaries, as any time a surveyor is involved in anything having to do with land is a good thing.
Best of to you with all that.
PS - I had to re-check the article. I thought I saw Mich State in the underlying article (unrelated though). Just kinda caught my Red Wing eye.... 😉
Who can take the time for all the presentations? I will be out of the office for at least 8 days in March / early April with the Mass. Convention, SPAR in Houston and some local Tools of the Trade show where I am going to continue my efforts in convincing realtors that they need Sketchup Models to help market homes to out of state buyers. I convinced one once and I have had a good amount of interest. I think they are cool to make and I have made many to help permit projects.
