Only the second time I've seen this in 40 years: Intersection commercial lot with the two west monuments off a tenth and the two east monuments off by 0.7 feet. Didn't take long to figure out the surveyor hadn't realized the next intersection going east had the brass cap on a 5' offset because of the manhole. If he had glanced at the two curb lines (not a wide street) he would have noticed the offset, or if he had shot another brass cap at the next intersection it would have become obvious. Not one of your top guys in the area and no longer licensed - the one 40 years ago wasn't either and eventually gave up his license.?ÿ
Bar on center line of highway.?ÿ Bar at section corner 8.4' to north.?ÿ Later find a survey of record showing my distance to be incorrect by 8.4 feet.?ÿ All one had to do was look at the highway plans to know the difference, which I had done while researching my survey.
