Anyone here work on it?
I was watching a video about blacked out areas on google earth and there is a large strip of land blacked out near the Alaska and Canada border
It was then I notice the entire line had been 'cut'. I knew it was cut along the continental USA but I didn't realize they cut through the frozen Alaska wilderness too. What a huge undertaking it must have been.
I kept following it north until the resolution of the photos wasn't good enough to follow the line. So I stopped and set a corner. 😉
There are a few higher resolution photos on north and it appeared the line in places is 'crookeder than a dogs hind leg' as my boss used to put it. It could be the photos are stretched I guess but it looks more like it was just cut crooked.
How often do they go out and clear this line?
I think work is overseen and done on a regular basis by a group called The International Boundary Commisssion (???). You might try Googling that or US Canada boundary and see what you can find.
Soon, as a matter of economy, the 50 States will be the next 50 Provinces Stephen Harper annexes.
Must be something in it as McMoundfinder Freres Moose Jaw Office has the Arctic Boundary Ice Crayons on sale as a discontinued line !
