One thing to consider - Klamath Falls is not a real large town. Which is fine, except that it means that there aren't a lot of local surveying jobs, or really any jobs, that you could take to help pay the bills while you study. If you need to work your way through college you might look for a college in a larger town. Just sayin'.

That is correct about Klamath. Pretty small town. I did enjoy my time there and my work at the Forest Service was some of my favorite surveying work to date. Great country to stomp around in blazing lines, finding and refreshing PLSS corners and being outside in a pretty nice climate.

Oregon Tech has partnered with the two year surveying program at Clark College in Vancouver WA that allows a student to transfer the first two years from Clark into Oregon Tech's 4 year degree program and then take the remaining two years at the Oregon Tech campus in Wilsonville, OR. Essentially one could complete their 4 year degree staying in the Portland/Vancouver Metro area.
