this has slipped down to page 3 and i thought that i would bring it to the top since things have already begun at the convention.
how about meeting friday nite around 8:00 to 8:30 pm at whatever is the main venue for adult beverages at the hotel/convention site?
that would give everyone time to gather, shoot the breeze, and still get some shut eye for the next day's seminars.
TSPS Convention Beerleg Meetup
I'll be available then. Post the venue here and I'll look it up on my smartphone when I get close.
Thx for the Pin.
Sounds good to me. I've got to go find some good Mexican food or a steak, so that should be just about right. If I get there early, I'll probably start without you.
Is it in Frisco?
I would highly recommend Dave & Buster's at the Mall located at the intersection of Preston Road and Highway 121. Good food, good drinks, and a choice of family style entertainment atmosphere downstairs, and a more adult bar and billards, indoor golf,...etc upstairs.
Most of the finer food establishments are around the Mall area as well.
HWY 35E
Seems like this was addressed the other day, but where/when does 35E turn into a toll road?
HWY 35E
35E never turns into a toll road, but a couple of toll roads cross it.
The main toll roads are The Dallas Tollway which runs north and south from Frisco to downtown Dallas.
The Highway 121 Tollway which runs east and west that more or less starts in McKinney at Highway 75 and runs through Frisco, Lewisville, Grapevine, and D/FW Airport.
The George Bush Tollway which runs east and west that more or less starts in Plano at Highway 75 and runs through Carrollton and Irving
I mailed off a box of Beer Leg "goodies" yesterday via Priority Mail to Mike Davis for you guys. It should be there later today. I wish WE could be there!! Maybe next year... 🙂
Hmmm, BeerLeg friends or Stars home opener...? Man thats a tough one. Too bad its not Saturday. Throw one back for me.
I'm just hoping they can find something better than a Dave & Buster's.
Heck, we've got some of those here in New York.
A pet peeve of mine is when folks travel all the way somewhere and eat in a place they could have eaten right back home. Like tourists in Times Square who head straight for an Applebee's.
Yeah theres alot more around there. I live only about 15 minutes from there. If they are looking for good Mexican, I would recommend Cristinas. Its da bomb.
Mi Cocina's is a personal favorite and they have superb service
Thanks so much, the box arrived this afternoon.
See y'all in Frisco ASAP.
Yay!
Someone pick something
I'm getting in the truck and headed that way. See you in 5 hours.
Hey guys! PLEASE get some pictures and videos! We can post them here, and we can also post the videos in our YouTube Channel.
🙂
Somebody, anybody, pick somewhere.
Well, I certainly had a great time tonight. In Fort Worth. By myself. Grumble.
Somebody, anybody, pick somewhere.
🙁
Somebody, anybody, pick somewhere.
Wendell, I think all the Texas folks are presently crying in their beers over the football game.
If it were me, I'd go with the bar at the convention center for a couple. Then people will decide.
One question for the TSPS, does the society provide a "hospitality suite" for attendees? Quite poplular in AZ & NV conferences. Regardless, have fun everybody and drive safe.
watt we have he ah
Is a failya to communicate.
Beer Leg Gathering Report
Friday night at 8, several Beerleggers got together in the Hotel bar and visited for awhile. Mike Davis was there passing out the coozies, cards and decals (thanks a bunch for thinking of us). Got to see and visit with Mike and Frank Shelton and got to meet R.A. Goodwin, but he was just arriving and trying to get settled in. Never knew what happened to Andy Nold and missed getting to see him. I'm sorry that I didn't get to see Matthew Loessin (and maybe learn how to spell his name). Had quite a few other folks there that were not familiar with the SurveyorConnect or Beerleg forum, so they are probably going to be tuning in this week. Also passed out some stuff to different folks the next day (including Gary Kent who did an excellent job as lecturer at a couple of classes)who showed quite an interest in checking out the discussion in the forum. I guess we are all just getting too old to do much of anything exciting after having sat in classes for most of the day. There was a good bit of booth space that could have been occupied, so a booth at next years convention would certainly give y'all a lot of good exposure. Thanks again for sending the goodies and hopefully y'all can make the convention next year.
