I am having trouble with my Topcon 802ar and the battery contacts. Battery has a full charge but I have to jam it into the instrument and hold with little pieces of duct tape for it to work, today even the duct tape wasn't helping much...the contacts need cleaned, what is the best or most effective way to clean them? I have used the eraser trick on other batteries in the past but the contacts are very small and hard to get at. One battery actually has a dimple in the middle where the spring loaded pin on the instrument hits it...
Any help or advice would be much appreciated...hate to have to break down and buy another brick, no problem getting it recelled but I think the cells are still good in it.

My Topcon dealer told me to use rubbing alcohol on contacts, and it works for me.
A Pink Pearl eraser.

Just used the erase on them, heading out now to see if it works any better.
