I had a hard drive failure on my XP machine, installed new hard drive, new windows XP installation and rinstalled Land Desktop 2008. While this machine was down I did some work on a drawing file in Civil 3D 2012 (just drafting, I didn't convert the drawing or points to C3D. I saved my drawing as an Autocad 2007 dwg in 2012, but now when I open it in LDD2008 it doesn't allow me to access many commands or the points because it says dwg contains objects from a newer version... Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Bob,
In C3d I think the trick is not to save as ... but to choose to export as ...

If you didn't create any Civil3d objects in 2012 and you saved in 2007 format then everything should be OK. The only thing that I can think of is you've accidentally added C3D objects somewhere. I would try opening the drawing in C3D again and doing an Export to ACad in 2007 format.
I have had that happen before. What I have done is open a new drawing and copy and paste everything from one drawing to the other drawing and it has seemed to work.
Thanks, that did the trick.
It's a moot point now, but "Export" is definitely the ticket when going from new versions of C3D to older versions of LDD (as opposed to "Save As").
