e following calculator models are the only ones acceptable for use during the 2020 exams:
- Casio: All fx-115 and fx-991 models (Any Casio calculator must have ??fx-115? or ??fx-991? in its model name.)
- Hewlett Packard: The HP 33s and HP 35s models, but no others
- Texas Instruments: All TI-30X and TI-36X models (Any Texas Instruments calculator must have ??TI-30X? or ??TI-36X? in its model name.)
When you took it the first time it was the venerable HP 45. You still have that saw??ÿ?ÿ
If you aren't intimately familiar with one from the list, I suggest trying the?ÿ HP35S. That was my choice after NCEES cut the list and it worked out well.
The funky chevron layout of the 33 is inefficient. You need to remember your eyes and fingers won't be young forever. A grid layout will be better long-term.
Nice thing with the Casios is you can add angles directly without using a HR->HMS conversion key.?ÿ Direct ?ø ' " entry.
If I were buying one for the test now, and I did not already use one form the list, I would buy the TI 30X. It's inexpensive and widely available. I took one into the CFEDS exam back in 2008 and it worked very well. CFEDS used to use the NCEES list.
