There's an old saying; "Nuclear Fusion is the energy of the future and it always will be."
Are we seeing; "The release of the new NGS coordinate system is 2 years out and it always will be."
I think NAD83 was fully complete in 1986.?ÿ That's the way it goes.
Offered for your consumption.
My favorite science communicator notes that it's a milestone for net energy within the reaction but it really isn't net energy for the overall process.

The problem is that the postponed datum and coordinate systems in the works are showing signs of obsolescence now. By the time they do release them, they will be nearly obsolete. Please just wait until 2030 (which means 2036 in federal measure) and give us one that will last a decade or two. Trying to appease the international users will just create a system less viable for North American users. We just need to continue a State Plane like coordinate system for users, the new ellipsoid they are working on to replace GRS1980 and a new North American coordinate base to replace NAD83. Geoids will continue to improve forever, but wait until height based vertical datums can come along for the same ride. Fixing and implementing each one by themselves is stupid. And I don??t care whose foot we use, mine is available.
Didn't mean to hijack the fusion post, i just went nuclear.?ÿ?ÿ

??Well this is it I reckon we??re going toe to toe with the Rooskies ?ÿin New-kler combat.?
