Half the least count with the least count being one link yields 0.33 feet. This would be the mathematical uncertainty of measurement with the literal chain instrument. The persistent use of the term "chain" to mean anything other than the actual equipment from the 1600s is a meaning that is truly an anachronism.

Mid 50's

It was a legal description for a property that used to be farmland (Up till about the 30's)

Funnier thing was the POB was not a stone or a tree but "The corner of Ezekiel something's property"

I am sure everyone knows where Ezekials property ends :'(
