Layout of residential building sites isn't my favorite thing to do.
I do have a couple of long term builder-clients though, that still call me from time to time...and I still accommodate them.
This one builder has been on it for over a week to get a crew out there. I've told him several times we need a site plan. Finally this morning one arrives by email.
First thing I notice is that the South property line (actually the center of the paved street) isn't shown correctly on the arky-whatever's drawing. If the structure is layed out as dimensioned, it would wind up 30' closer to the street than what the drawing shows...
After an all day of emails and phone tag trying to explain this to my client (the builder), I get an email from the arkyturd:
"..put the structure 125' from the curb and center it on the lot."
🙁
I wonder how much the folks that are having this thing built payed for his services?
ok..rant off. BP back down to 200 over 100...
Isn't that why you get Payed In Cash....:-P
But in reality, putting 8 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag is almost like staking a building where all the dimensions exceed your setback limits. Many architurkys like to leave a dimension off, so as to make things even more complicated. And included in their legend is "NTS - Not To Scale", or even better - "TBV - To Be Verified in Field".
Making matters worse is knowing full well that the woebegone happy homeowner thinks his architurky served him well, and the surveyor is causing him grief because he can't fit the house on the lot without doing a topo and potentially considerable additional control work to CYA.
...just sayin...
cheers 🙂
