In my proposals, I state that I will attend X meetings. If less than the anticipated number of meetings occurs, I win as I build in a figure for that time. ON THE OTHER HAND, if the client insists on a lot of extra meetings beyond my scope of work, I will notify them in advance that I need to invoice as an extra.
As always, the ultimate answer is that "it depends on the client". If it is a repeat customer, what is a couple extra meetings worth to your relationship?
