I ended up using rebar a few times when I was completely new to that part of the fieldwork but I realized the error of it and switched to finding stuff to scribe a light X on instead.

Forgive me for being startled by your message. I had clicked on your post as being the only new post I hadn't seen in this thread. Butt, you see, my feeble mind had only picked up on the "TP" at the end of the thread title and I was expecting a comment about toilet paper. 😯 😯
Using a rebar as a replacement for TP seemed a bit desperate.
