Just a few pics from the last couple weeks.

Track into the first building complete.

Looking out of the building. Rail stockpiled for the track into the next building.

Building the roadbed upto the building.

Welding crews welding base plates and pandrol clips for the rail.

The crew waiting for me to get to work.

No work got done that day. She barely fit on the truck.

Just curious. Is the 1/2" (or so) plate (that the rails are clipped to) attached to the concrete floor? If so, how many places? Is expansion/ contraction an issue?

The plate appears to run the entire length of the building.

The plates are welded together. They are supposed to be leveled with grout underneath and bolted to the floor. I say supposed to be, because they did none of those things for the first building and are probably not planning to do them in the current one either. They have blocks attached to the floor every 50 feet or so that holds the plates from moving side to side. We've run a few loads over the track in the first building and have not noticed any movement other than a little flexing of the plates where the floor is uneven.
