Haynesville Shale, the Barnett Shale, and now the Eagle Ford Shale
The three shale plays are huge. The Haynesville will be slowing down in another year or two due to price of NG. The Eagleford is picking up big time b/c it is both a NG & a light/sweet crude play. We have been in the Haynesville for over a year and we are just starting to work the eagleford.
How many of these crews are "contract crews"?
50 crews is a big headache. I wonder how much of their work is for the interconnecting p/ls. You can run anywhere from 4-6 crew on one line. The well work is usually one crew while you can keep two crews busy doing the Unit portion of the well.
Sounds like they are spread out b/w the three plays.
THAT IS A LOGISTICAL NIGHTMARE!!
Joe, I couldnt tell you if they are working on those particular projects. I do know that they are well diversified - there are posters here that work for the company that i was refering to. I know they still have a high degeee of standards and quality control. it was a pleasure working there. As far as contract crews, when I was there, i believe all employees were that - employees with benefits. that probably hasnt changed - i dont know.
The most I supervised off of my license was 12 or so. Didn't like that too much, but depending on the work, and the quality of staff you have, it is doable. So, based on that I would guess for 50 crews, they have at least 5-6 PLS's.
