We had to bite the bullet and buy a new computer with Windows 10. We have gotten everything worked out except for our plotter. We have a HP Designjet T610 24" plotter. We cannot seem to find a way to print from the new computer. (FYI our old computer is XP) We have found all kinds of drivers but none of them seem to work. We called HP and they said the plotter was discontinued several years ago and so they no longer support it and it would not work with Windows 10. If that is so WHY do they show the plotter and give you a link to download new drivers. We would just like to be able to plot from the new computer to the plotter. Has anyone had similar problems and gotten them resolved?
Thanks,
Chris
A couple of thoughts:
1) You've probably already tried this, but be sure that you know if you're using Win10-64 bit or Win10-32 bit and chose the correct driver.
2) I'm running Win10-64 bit with Carlson 2016 on top of AutoCAD 2016. I tend to plot to Adobe Acrobat then from there to my HP Designjet 800. One day a couple of months after upgrading to Win10 I tried plotting directly to the HP 800 from AutoCAD and found that it wouldn't work. Apparently AutoCAD has chosen not to support printers that aren't officially supported by the version of your OS. In my case HP does not provide a Win10 driver for the HP800 so even though the upgrade from Win7 to Win10 kept the Win 7 driver and every other program on my computer will plot to it, AutoCAD will not. There is a HP Designjet Universal driver for Win10 that may work but I haven't tried it yet.
3) If the issue turns out to be AutoCAD, plot to pdf then print.
[sarcasm] Ain't "progress" grand[/sarcasm]
I suppose if its a new pc then its probably 64bit? And you have tried the win 8.1 drivers to no effect?
As a very inelegant work round can you use the old pc as a print server?
I have the same problem with a CCTV card so i have to have an old XP box sat in the corner 🙁
Alternative for you could be virtulaization.
scrap the 8.1 idea they seem to have a 10 driver?
i have a t620 running windows 10 64 pro
I think I used the windows 8 drivers from Hp
no problems running this setup for 4 months
I can plot directly to the plotter from autocad (16 c3d)
or
to a pdf using the acrobat driver

Try WinLine Drivers if you can't find a way to get it to plot. I had to go to their program in order to get my Win 7 computer to plot to my HP 450C. It is a little pricey, $199 for the program when I bought it, but I'm sure that they have it updated to Win 10 capabilities. They will send you a demo version to try and see if it will work with your system.
boy I wished I'd looked at this thread before buying win 10. Can't get my HP 111 to work. Any new updates on how?

The link above should get you to a page where you can select your OS and download drivers. It has drivers listed for the HP Designjet 111 for Win10 32bit and 64 bit.
Edit: If you have the tray version rather than the roll fed, you might have to go back a page or two and select the correct model.

I tried that link a couple days ago but the computer still doesn't recognize the plotter.

Is it networked or cable?
I too run win10 pro autocad 16 and a t620 plotter
the t610/620 are listed in this file hpdjt1100serieswx64gl

with cable

I haven't run one on a usb or centronics in years. You might try hooking it up via network if it's equipped for it. Jim Frame had a post about an HP LaserJet 4 on Win10 a month or two ago where I posted a procedure to get Win10 to update the driver list. Might be worth a try.
thanks Stephen
I doubt this will help but to use my HP Designjet 500 on Win7 64 bit I had to use a Vista driver for it

Reviving an old topic here, but I finally got my HP Designjet 800 to print direct from AutoCAD 2018 in Win10-64bit.?ÿ Basically I deleted and reinstalled using the "Add printer or scanner" function under Printers & Scanners.?ÿ Give the autosearch a minute to time out then click on the "The printer that I want isn't listed" prompt.?ÿ My printer is networked so I picked "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname" option and keyed in the address when prompted.?ÿ When you get to the step where it prompts you select manufacturer and model, be sure to click the Windows Update button.?ÿ This causes Win10 to download the very latest drivers.?ÿ After the update completes, then select manufacturer and model and complete the install. This caused my HP800 driver to go from version 7.10 to version 8.10 which is the secret to printing direct from AutoCAD in Win10.?ÿ For what it's worth, you cannot get this driver direct from HP.
The problem with using older Pre-Windows 10 plotters is that Win10 requires security certificates as part of the driver.
I have a HP1050C that I required help in getting it to work properly.
There is a lady at the website www.plotterprincess.com that will work with you to get it going. Pay her 50 bucks and be happy.
@just-a-surveyor?ÿ I just gave the cliff notes version yesterday the rest of the story is further up the thread.?ÿ Long story short, somewhere around AutoCAD 2015 folks started having issues plotting to older HP plotters.?ÿ Basically AutoCAD quit supporting any plotters/printers not supported by the manufacturer in that version of Windows. So for example if HP doesn't directly supply a driver for the HP Designjet 800 in Win10 then AutoCAD won't support it.?ÿ I eventually figured out that Windows 10 includes drivers (with security certificates also) for many printers that can't be gotten through the manufacturer . Using the 7.10 version of the driver provided by Win10 I could print from any program except AutoCAD.?ÿ AutoCAD would immediately throw an error and switch the plotter selection to none if I tried to select the HP800.?ÿ The updated 8.10 version of the driver cures this error so that now I can plot from AutoCAD or Adobe at my discretion.
I'm using the driver for the HP1050C to plot from Win10 to my HP450C through an old HP print server.?ÿ It works well.
@jim-frame?ÿ I just looked out of curiosity, HP Designjet 500 is as low as the current list of Win10 Hp drivers goes.?ÿ Glad your solution is working.
