Anybody know what's going on with the Carlson Forum?

I've been getting this message for a couple of days:

They definitely have an interesting way of updating the forum... those broken URLs will certainly mess up their "Googlability". 😉

They have been having some problems with the new setup. You are supposed to be redirected to the new page when you click the link. Sometimes you are. Sometimes you are told that you have been permanently banned from the site. Made for an interesting day yesterday. Brian finally got it all fixed.
Now here's a "Heads Up". It costs Carlson s chunk of change to run that site. The economy is in the tank. IF there just remains the three or four of us that use that site, we can look for it to go away.
It is a gold mine of information. There are solutions there that even Brian did not know about. (Remember the quick key fix for Carlson Survey with Embedded Autocad? Neither Brian or our district rep knew about that fix. Or the fix for the "Draw Arc by Start, End, Direction")
Bottom line is, "Use it or lose it".

Carlson is currently undergoing some infrastructure improvements and as a result, we errantly blocked or restricted an IP address which caused accessibility problems to the new Carlson support forum. This was identified and corrected yesterday, please accept my apologies for the confusion. Although it is true there is some cost to run and maintain the Carlson forum, I wouldn't necessarily make the statement that it (and its content) would go away simply due to the cost. It would be a fair statement, however, that a forum (to wit) is as only as successful as the amount of participation that it receives.

There are several ideas I've personally discussed with the Carlson IT Staff aimed at how we can get information published and out to our clients and also provide a mechanism whereby client participation is also fostered (think "Wiki"). It will likely take some time and effort to implement such a system as we currently have other, more pressing items on the IT "to-do" list. However (and if I get my way), the "gold mine of information" will always be find-able in one form or another.

"the quick key fix for Carlson Survey with Embedded Autocad"

Any chance you want to enlighten me on this?

(assuming that this is something other than just the surv.pgp file)

Creation of the surv.pgp from your acad.pgp file is indeed the fix and works VERY well. The only problem is that Carlson has some of its own quick keys that will over write some you are used to. You just modify those conflicts in your surv.pgp file and you are off to the races. So far I have had NO problems using this fix.
