We are having issues connecting our TSC7's to iphone's hotspots.
Are we the only ones? Does anyone know how to make this work?
I know we had a few crews try to use phone hotspots before our dedicated SIM cards arrived.
The only real problem I remember was that when a call or text came in, it interrupted the data stream from the RTN server, dropping the NRTK solution and forcing the crew to start a new session. So every time I would call a crew that was running a rover, they got a little annoyed...
What problems are you having on yours?
@rover83 we put a sim card in the T7, eliminates these problems.

The iphone and TSC7 apparently do not connect up with WiFi
Trimble does not work with iOS. A service tech mentioned the data collector will initially connect but as soon as another WiFi is pinged the connection will drop. ?ÿI found out the hard way for over a month. ?ÿPoor programming/planning by Trimble.
As a side note, I have a TDC600 and moved my SIM card from a MiFi to the TDC. ?ÿWorks for ~30 minutes and will drop connection requiring a reboot. ?ÿUpgraded firmware but still have the same issue. ?ÿBack to using MiFi until Trimble resolves issue. ?ÿBeen a month and they still haven??t responded or provide a fix. ?ÿ

It's not a Trimble issue, but the proprietary nature of iOS and its development restrictions. If it were easier and more cost-effective to have re-written Access for iOS rather than Android, they'd have done it.

Have you called your dealer back? If they haven't gotten back to you by now, they either neglected to get in touch with Trimble support or forgot to get back to you with a response.
We had a few problems with the TSC5 and TSC7 SIM cards, but it was due to the fact that SIM cards come with those flimsy plastic inserts to make them the proper size; keeping them in those plastic pieces during installation could be a bit tricky. I think we had about 4-5 controllers (out of the ~50 that we purchased) that required us to pop them out and back in again before they would register on the DC. Once that was done, no problems.
Friend of mine runs FC5000's and has the same issue. I talked to him, and apparently turning off the Bluetooth can help. We will do some experimenting, but it seems like a known bug that no one cares to fix.?ÿ
iphone with FC5000 here. If the cell coverage is strong, 3 bars or more, the FC5000 hooks right up. If less than 2 bars, no hookup ever. 2 bars, it is going to be a long, frustrating day. It's that simple.?ÿ
My TSC7 will use iPhone 12 as WiFi hotspot
