I'm having a problem drawing arcs in ACAD Map 2014. I want to draw arcs using start, end and radius, which I've always done before with no problem. I pick the two endpoints and then numerically input the radius distance. Sometimes the command works fine and other times it gives me "invalid" upon entering the radius distance. This is driving me nuts. I've tried all types of scenarios to get the command to work consistently. It may be operator error because like I said, sometimes it works just fine and other times, not so much.
Any ideas what might be going on here? Thanks.
Do you have to input 'E' for end? Is it suggesting anything in the command prompt?
With only the endpoints and a radius value how does the program determined which of 2 (probably) radius points you want?
When I get the "invalid" message, it typically refers to the radius being too large or too small (doesn't fit between the ends).

AutoCAD draws arcs counterclockwise from the first end point to the second endpoint........ask me how many times I've screwed this up. :unamused:
Probably half as many times as me......
Yeah, me too. I want to know how all the mathemagicians out there got all them quadrants and angles bassackwards from our (correct) way of doing things?

If you enter a radius that is less than half the distance between the end points it will give you the "invalid" response.

Thanks guys. That appears to have been my problem. Solved. 🙂
