I have a TSC3 that unfortunately has a problem connecting to wifi, which is very problematic if I want to be able to use the TSC3 and an R8 as a rover only using a VRS now solution. My TSC3 can see wifi networks, but for some reason will not connect and if it manages to, the connection is dropped after minutes. Another issue I have is I have transferred Trimble Access from the TSC3 to a TSC7 so while I can use the TSC3, if I try to do any software updates, or replace any of the hardware I will lose that ability to run Trimble Access and the TSC3 will essentially be dead unless I replace the internal components and/or buy a new Trimble Access License. At this time I can use it to run a robot, but that's it.

That being said, I know today's cell phones can tether via bluetooth to give internet access to certain devices. I have tried this approach and seem to be able to get the TSC3 to recognize my phone, but yet it won't maintain the connection to access internet. My question to the community is does anyone know how or have tried to do bluetooth tethering on a cell phone to a TSC3? Is there maybe a wifi dongle that can be placed on the TSC3's usb port to allow a wifi connection? What about a USB connection from a phone to the TSC3 to get internet? I know Windows Mobile isn't really supported anymore so it's hard to find answers on these types of questions so I thought I would ask the forum to see if anyone has had any luck. Maybe there is no way to do it because windows mobile is simply too old, but any advice that can be provided will be greatly appreciated. Having my TSC3 to at least run a robot is still helpful and I'm really only impacted if I'd like to run two rovers at the same time.

Thanks for all your help!

So you are using TA on your retired TSC3, retired by transferring the license to the 7, illegally. ?ÿMy suggestion? Get a new receiver, the R8 is 15 year old technology. I wouldnƒ??t use a 15 year old laptop or phone. And use the new receiver with the 7.

I don't think the Bluetooth tethering will work for internet because the version of Bluetooth is different but I wouldn't mind being wrong.

I was able to get my R8 connected to vrs with the apglos survey app on my phone. I didn't like the interface or the paying for each shot but it did work. You might be able to find a decent solution using a phone as a data collector I think there are several options but I don't know what the cost is.?ÿ?ÿ
