Does anyone happen to have a copy of early firmware update for a trimble 5800? My firmware service expired in April, 2003 and the oldest available on the Trimble site is September 2003. I have never upgraded since I bought them about 4 years ago and my version is 1.03, a lot of room to upgrade. Turns out an update around that time enables 2mb of internal storage that I was completely unaware of but would love to get access to it. A 2.0 firmware would be amazing but I'd take anything higher than 1.10.

Thanks!

Hi.
I recently (last night) tried to update my firmware to the v1.1 and it will ask you for a password to finish. I am currently (today) negotiating with my local dealer who in turn is trying to get something from Trimble direct to allow at least that upgrade. I know it will cost something. It always does.
To get the on-board logging ability its worth something to me. The alternative is to go to v2.3 for 600 clams. Which is not really worth it for a piece of equipment nearing 15 years old.
But that 'ol 5800 works just about as nice as some equipment I use at my 'real' job. I will let you know what the outcome is.
