An alternative to remote login and phone apps is to use Dropbox to sync a folder on the home computer with a folder on the office computer.

You can also setup GoToMyPC and work from that.
A friend has a machine that I often work on. No keyboard, screen or mouse. I login in directly to it and operate it like I was sitting there. I can copy files back and forth all day without issue.
I wonder how that works with software licensing? There must be some small print that keeps people from sharing their software like that?
I remember back when we were struggling with Eagle Point, I somehow managed to inadvertently establish a remote session with one of their servers. Their desktop was my desktop. I could run all of their programs, add and delete files.
The software actually operated fairly quickly considering.
I'm sure that legally it's more complicated, but one viewpoint would be that it is licensed to run on one machine and it is running on only one machine.
The input and output data are being linked via another machine, but Eric isn't running their software on his machine.
Remote Access is from my windows smart phone, to obtain a file if forgotten in the field.
Bill is absolutely correct. The software wasn't running on my machine. It was simply being operated remotely. In this case it didn't really matter. I'm licensed for the same software anyhow.

I don't know if this will work for you, but I use Dropbox and program called Boxifier which allows you sync any or all folders on your harddrive with dropbox. The Syncing is done pretty much instantly, as soon as the files are created on your desktop, and the folders you select are available remotely.
I also got a Western Digital "MyCloud" which operates as a network drive on your office network, but it's also available over the internet. So, pretty much all desktop files and my stored files (network drive) are available to me from anywhere.
I just wish they make a DropBox App for WindowsCE ... I'd love to have access to the files directly from my Ranger and Nomad, instead of having to send everything to/from the phone.
