I have a windows 8.1 laptop, and it does not recognize the data collector (windows CE). The older versions of windows used "active sync" then switched to "windows mobile device center" anyway, I can not download to my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't remember installing anything on my last 2 windows 8 systems.
When I plugged my 2200's in (make sure you have internet) windows
8 installed what is now called "Sync Center"
I had to plug in the FC2200 at least 3 times,
making sure it had time to process something each time.
Then it worked every time.
It may be a USB driver for your FC2000, Check topocon Total Care and
see if there is a download for one.
