How does that make it not free (as in beer)?

I think that people in this thread were referring to free as in beer.

I switched from Irfanview to Xnview some years back. I think it had to do with the file size capability, but it's been too long for me to remember for sure. I haven't looked at Irfanview since, so I can't comment on its current status, but I'll note that Xnview still does everything I need it to do.

@Jim Frame
This thread sent me looking at Xnview. Faststone doesn't handle my dual monitors which I just lived with.
It seems Xnview does from what I've read.
Is that right?
Any users have experience with Xnview MP?

From IrfanView's web site:

USAGE AGREEMENT

IrfanView is provided as freeware, but only for private, non-commercial use (that means at home).

IrfanView is free for educational use (schools, universities, museums and libraries) and for use in charity or humanitarian organisations.

If you intend to use IrfanView at your place of business or for commercial purposes, please register and purchase it. I want to continue working on this program, therefore, your registration will be an incentive for me to add new functions and increase the program's quality.

I'm sure Mr. Skiljan is not going to hunt anybody down, but if you're using it on a regular basis and really like it, why wouldn't you pony up the $12? XnView costs 2.5 times as much per license.

If you're asking if you can display more than one image at a time, then the answer is "yes" -- just leave the "Only one instance" option unchecked, and you can have multiple images displayed, each in its own window that you can move between monitors.

I prefer only one instance so I don't end up with dozens of Xnview windows open at the end of the day.

it was about whether it can be entirely viewed on 2nd monitor.
For some reason Faststone acts up and even wont drag across to it.
I installed Xnview MP but have only given it a quick look.
Thanks for your input Jim.

Thank you! It was just that simple.
